Get ready for a fun & insightful weekend as we're welcoming international guest teacher Adam Husler to Bubble Yoga!

Adam is the embodiment of a teacher who is serious about the practice & study of yoga, but does not take himself seriously. If you've ever engaged with his social media content, you'll know what we mean! But beyond the humorous yoga videos there's a highly experienced teacher who has been sharing his enthusiasm for yoga & anatomy for over 10 years with practitioners & teachers around the globe.

>> This weekend of workshops is tailored to enhance both yoga students' practice and yoga teachers' knowledge. Saturday workshops are open to all with a foundation of yoga practice while Sunday sessions are dedicated to teachers curious to refine their skills & teaching.


// SATURDAY - WORKSHOPS - OPEN TO ALL

// 10:00-12:30 - Happy feet and Balanced roots 

We spend lots of time walking around in comfortable, chunky trainers on artificially flat surfaces, meaning many of the muscles in our feet never get the chance to wake up and be used! Most of our shoes constrain our feet in some way, with 77% of Americans report suffering from painful, debilitating foot conditions.
In a yoga class, we’ve shed our shoes, but our attention normal goes to the more ‘obvious’ parts of the body. We simply, often don’t give feet the attention they deserve.

In this workshop we will:

  • Build a strong, yet flexible, foundation for our whole body
  • Move toes, feet, and ankles in every imaginable way and understand how that relates to vinyasa yoga
  • Explore the awareness and engagement required when balancing on one leg and shifting centre of gravity
  • Move through mobility exercises designed to wake up our feet and lower body.
  • Have an understanding of our feet, with exercises we can apply to our daily lives.

// 14:00-16:30 - Finding strength and balance in backbends

There are plenty of ways to shortcut your way into a pose, or at least something that looks like the pose on quick inspection, but here we’ll be focusing on integrity over aesthetics. King Pigeon and Dancers pose have countless benefits, if done mindfully, but have lots of less-than-desirable outcomes if you are ‘chasing the shape’.
Through this workshop you will:
  • Increase your understanding of backbends and learn how to apply that to your regular practice,
  • Develop a set of tools you can use to strengthen your over-loose bits and open your over-tight bits.
  • Increase knowledge and skill as you work in the direction of full dancers and pigeon poses
  • Learn how to keep your spine protected and safe in backbends
  • Have a vinyasa based practice based around backhanding, with opportunities to explore more complex poses like; wheel, drop backs, bow and plenty more.
>> This workshop is for anyone with a regular practice and although there will be some advanced poses, the focus is the direction of travel, rather than destination. Contortionists and desk workers will both equally find challenge and benefit.

// SUNDAY - FULL DAY TRAINING - FOR TEACHERS & TRAINEES

// 08:30-12:30 + 14:00-17:00 - Asana Deconstruction & Skilful Teaching

When we first dip our toes into the world of yoga asanas, we often see asanas as absolute shapes, that are there to be replicated and ultimately conquered. When we teach, sometimes elements of this may continue, and we ask students to work towards asanas for asana’s sake. This training is all about moving beyond imitation and exploring how we can encourage students to begin to build skill in their asana practice, and start questions like; what is the intention of the pose? What is being opened and what strengthened? Is this actually beneficial for my body? Am I being distracted by a desire to achieve a dramatic shape? From both the perspective of teachers and students, in this series of workshops, we will explore:

  • Deconstructing ‘peak poses’ and how to prepare the body for their practice, the intention behind pose families and common habits that can be potentially injurious
  • How to deepen our physical practice in a controlled safe and sustainable way
  • How to apply alignment principles to unique bodies
  • How to balance flexibility and strength, whilst dropping desire for ‘dramatic’ shapes!
  • How to teach advanced poses and offer options for all levels
  • Discover how asanas, their variations and how you cue them, can be best utilised in your chosen direction of travel
>> You will get a certificate on completion of the training and all qualified teachers and trainees are welcome.
On top of the 7hrs of in-person sessions, there will be a 1h follow-up call to complete the training (= total 8hrs CPD with Yoga Alliance)

 

// ABOUT ADAM

Drawing from a variety of lives lived off the mat, Adam Husler brings a unique perspective to those who seek more from yoga than making pretty shapes. He offers creative, effective and clearly-sequenced teachings that focus on balancing flexibility and strength; physically and mentally. Adam specialises in a signature style of Alignment-Based Vinyasa - fuelled by a fascination with anatomy and a desire to ask ‘why?’ Adam believes that yoga is a personally subjective practice of self enquiry, where one thing is for certain: whether a long-time listener, first time caller, or anywhere in between... yoga offers us all plenty of options for challenge and reward. Start small, go slow, practise, and all is coming.

Adam has taught classes, workshops and trainings in over 60 studios in over 20 countries, with a robust home schedule in London's leading studios.   • This workshop series is designed to enrich both yoga students & teachers' journeys
  • Some vinyasa (yoga flow) experience is needed but the workshops are open to all levels of practice
  • Saturday workshops can be booked individually or as a package - Sunday Training is offered as a day package only
  • If you are a teacher you can claim 8h of continuous education with Yoga Alliance if you attend the Sunday programme
  • All sessions will be in English

As part of our commitment to #YogaForAll, we are opening ONE scholarship spot for Saturday workshops & ONE scholarship spot for Sunday Training for anyone who is willing to commit to the programme but unable to afford the full price.
